My Kids had their Batizado today...it is a type of graduation where they move up a cord in Capoiera. They were sooooo excited! They have trained very hard this year. It is always a fun event because so many people travel in from other schools and from as far as Brazil.... it makes for quite a show :) The school is Raizes do Brasil if you ever want to check out their website!

I have taken classes too, but it may be a couple more years before I can do this :)

I had an awesome portrait / adventure / mud bath session with the Lozano kids and their mom Michelle. I love this family so much, so lucky to get to work with them again this year :) and yes kid sessions usually do end up a little more crazy than planned, but that's what makes 'um so much fun.

This weekend my Grandma Rose passed away... She was 100 years old! So here is a post for her memoy. We just had the chance to visit her for her birthday party in the end of January. I feel so grateful to have gone.

She has always had a cheery disposition and positive outlook on life... maybe key to living 100 years :)

My little guy, Orion, has a fondness for grandma's. He hadn't seen her since he was six weeks old and as soon as we walked in the door he ran up to her hugged and kissed her and climbed in her lap. The shared many cute moments. Here he is patting her on the head...

My other son Rio loved talking to her in the special microphone that amplified his already too loud voice so she could hear better.

Riley my tender hearted daughter. It was her idea to bring grandma a teddy bear for her birthday. She held it through her trip to the hospital and back home as comfort before she passed. It said "love and kisses" on it, she liked that part.

Orion is always good company and so was grandma, a good match!

They kept each other laughing.

A last minute family shoot with some of my favorite people :) Carlo, Tammy and Tavila . The beach in December (note, this was right before it rained and it was so cold Tavila didn't want to put her feet in the sand!) was so wet that carlo had to piggy back us all; yes including me, to the other side of the beach swamp! What a guy. I think it was worth it.
